They didn’t have any children yet, their first child John Herbert SEELY was born in Guisborough, Yorkshire in late 18815. It seems odd that a family from Kent would have a child born in Yorkshire, but this is confirmed in later censuses.

In 1911 Mary Ann GALLEHAWK (SEELY) was living at 6 High Street, Plumstead, Kent7. She had her son John Herbert SEELY living with her. She had said on the census that she had 4 children in her marriage, all of whom were still living, but it had been crossed through. She wasn’t supposed to fill that section out because she wasn’t married at the time the census was taken (she was a widow), but the information is still helpful in knowing that she had 4 children in her marriage to John Herbert SEELY (Snr.)
