1911 Census

In 1911, Henry Gray RECORD was living at 44 Plough Road (same road, different house number), Rotherhithe, Surrey4 with his father Montague RECORD, who was now a widower. Under the rules for the census, it was the women who were asked how long they had been married, and how many children they had in that marriage. Montague had filled it out and it had been crossed through. It is still helpful to see the information that would have been written there if Mary Ann NEATBY (RECORD) had still been alive. Henry Gray RECORD was now working as a public boys’ clerk.
