After Etta’s death, her husband Sylvan Thomas NEWICK put notices in the newspaper, saying:
Mr NEWICK & Sons wish to thank all kind friends and neighbours for their sympathy and flowers, also the doctors and nurses in Ward 9 in the Kent and Sussex Hospital. also family doctor for the good services they did for my Wife, Etta Dorcas NEWICK, also the Darby and Joan Club and the Oak Road Association.
